Master-level instruction. Real student growth.
Dunedin Taekwondo Academy is led by experienced instructors who understand that great training is about more than technique. Students are taught with structure, correction, encouragement, discipline, and respect.
Grand Master James Lemminn
Grand Master Lemminn founded Dunedin Taekwondo Academy and has helped shape generations of students through discipline, respect, structure, and traditional Taekwondo training.
Master BJ Lemminn
Master BJ brings energy, precision, structure, and lifelong Taekwondo experience to every class.
Confidence, focus, respect, coordination, discipline, and earned progress.
Strength, skill, movement, stress relief, self-defense, and steady growth.
Students are taught with clear expectations, consistent routines, and real standards.
Students are corrected, supported, challenged, and taught to keep showing up.
Experience matters when students are learning discipline.
Strong instruction is about more than knowing Taekwondo. It is knowing how to teach different ages, guide different personalities, build confidence safely, and help each student understand what real progress feels like.
Lead instruction with deep DTA roots.
Master BJ Lemminn leads instruction at Dunedin Taekwondo Academy, with Ryan Koski helping teach the next generation of students. BJ and Ryan have known each other since childhood and share the same DTA foundation. Ryan trained at Dunedin Taekwondo Academy his whole life, earned his 3rd Degree Black Belt, and now helps carry that standard forward on the same mat where he grew up.
Master BJ Lemminn
Master BJ Lemminn brings lifelong Taekwondo experience, high-level technical skill, and serious energy to the mat. His instruction is structured, direct, encouraging, and built around real student progress.
Students learn more than movement. They learn how to focus, listen, work through challenges, carry themselves with confidence, and keep improving one class at a time.
Ryan Koski
Ryan Koski trained at Dunedin Taekwondo Academy his whole life. He grew up in this school, earned his 3rd Degree Black Belt, and now brings that same foundation into his role as an instructor.
Because Ryan knows what it means to come up through DTA, he understands the student side of training. He helps students build confidence, discipline, focus, respect, and steady progress from the inside out.
Same roots. Same expectations. Same mat.
BJ and Ryan grew up with the same academy standard, and that matters. Students are not walking into a random martial arts program. They are training with instructors who know the history, understand the expectations, and care about carrying DTA forward the right way.
We teach more than kicks, forms, and belts.
Taekwondo gives students a place to move, train, focus, and build strength. But the deeper work is helping students develop confidence, discipline, respect, and the ability to keep going when something is hard.
At Dunedin Taekwondo Academy, students are taught with structure and encouragement. They learn that progress does not happen all at once. It is built through practice, patience, effort, correction, and consistency.
Dunedin Taekwondo Academy combines traditional Taekwondo instruction with character development, helping students build confidence, focus, discipline, respect, strength, coordination, and perseverance in a structured local academy environment.
Students learn what effort can do.
Every class gives students another chance to practice, improve, and feel proud of what they are earning.
Focus under pressure.
Belts represent work.
Students practice patience, perseverance, focus, and self-control.
Training supports coordination, balance, strength, flexibility, and body awareness.
Respect, responsibility, discipline, and confidence are built into the way students train.
Belts matter. Character matters more.
The belt is a milestone, not the whole story. The real growth is in the student who listens better, stands taller, tries again, respects others, and learns how to keep going.
A place for every starting point.
Some students come here full of confidence. Some are nervous. Some are brand new. Some are ready for the next challenge. Dunedin Taekwondo Academy gives kids, teens, adults, and families a place to begin, train, and keep growing.
Beginner today. Stronger tomorrow.
The point is not to arrive perfect. The point is to start, train, listen, practice, and keep improving.
